At high elevations and in a dry climate, proper hydration, warm breathable layers, and sun protection is a necessity. New Mexico weather can also change without much notice.
All roads traveled on are paved and only moderately hill like terrain. Many of the streets are narrow so riding safely and alert is very important.

What to Expect: Taos E-Bike Tour
We have long wanted to show Taos powered by the unique pedal-assist advantage and vantage point, and it’s happening!
Embark on a journey through time as we unveil the vibrant history, art, and characters that make Taos unlike any other place. Our pedal-assist e-bike tour is an educational and fun adventure that offers a local’s perspective on the hidden gems of this enchanting town. Nestled at the base of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, Taos has long been a haven for artists, visionaries, and free spirits. Known as an artist colony for over a century, it has drawn creatives from around the world to capture its people, landscapes, and light. But the art of Taos runs even deeper—members of Taos Pueblo have been crafting works of beauty here for over 1,000 years, making it one of the oldest continuously inhabited communities in the United States.
Powered by motor, you’ll effortlessly navigate the scenic backroads and historic streets that define Taos. Our first stop takes us to the breathtaking home of Russian artist Nicolai Fechin, where his hand-carved wood and metalwork turn architecture into art. Next, we’ll visit the Millicent Rogers Museum, where you’ll learn about Millicent herself—a socialite, oil heiress, and fashion icon who fell in love with Taos and devoted much of her life to preserving its artistic heritage. Pedaling through the pastoral beauty of Taos’s acequia-lined roads, we’ll meet a Mayor Doma who will share the history and importance of these traditional irrigation systems. A stop at a local gallery reveals stunning examples of historic American Indian art, offering a glimpse into the region’s deep cultural roots.
Our journey continues to the iconic San Francisco de Asis Church, whose massive adobe walls have inspired artists like Ansel Adams and Georgia O’Keeffe. Often considered one of the most depicted churches in the country, its timeless beauty embodies the spirit of Taos. Riding through a charming neighborhood of adobe homes, we’ll learn about a local Santero, a master artisan who creates hand-carved Retablos, Bultos, and stone lithographs. These works both honor centuries-old traditions and add a contemporary touch to the region’s artistic legacy.
Our tour wouldn’t be complete without a tasty treat, so we’ll stop at the Taos Cow, a local artisan ice cream shop that specializes in New Mexican ingredients and flavors. We return to the historic Plaza on the Old Santa Fe Trail once the only route that connected Taos to the outside world. With a heart full of stories and a newfound appreciation for this remarkable town, you’ll leave ready to explore even more of Taos’s magic.
