Wednesday was the Equinox officially marking the start of fall, one of the most beautiful times here in New Mexico as we transition from summer to winter. The mornings and evenings are cool and crisp, but the days are still sunny and warm. You can smell the green chile roasting on every corner and the leaves are changing to hues of red, orange and yellow coloring the hills and mountains. Explore the backroads of Albuquerque and experience the beauty of fall on our El Bosque Chiquito E-Bike tour. You will ride along New Mexico’s largest river, the Rio Grande, and into the heart of the harder to see agricultural heritage and water management system of Albuquerque’s Rio Grande Valley.

While exploring Abiquiu, it’s not difficult to uncover why so many artists have made their home among her mesas, buttes, valleys, canyons and plateaus with vivid hues painted and etched across her landscape like poetry. Experience the magic of the beautiful white sandstone cliffs of Plaza Blanca with breathtaking views of the Chama river valley and meet some of the artists who have been inspired by this land.

We just returned from our Chaco Canyon Glamping Equinox Tour where we witnessed the alignment of our ancestral people etched in the sandstone. It was an unforgettable experience, as the HI crew worked together in the wild and harsh elements as a tribe to bring about magic on our roving Glamping Expedition.

I traveled with a retreat group of 8 artists along the back roads from Taos to the geological wonder that is known as Plaza Blanca. Our time roaming the hills of this extraordinary geological wonder was inspiring and breathtaking. Followed by lunch on a covered patio in Abiquiu and a tour of ceramic artist Debra Fritts's studio. We were inspired and learned so much about New Mexico, it's geology and history and were filled up with the beauty of these amazing places. “We joined the Chaco Canyon day tour, and our guide Tam was very awesome! The booking experience was smooth and easy, and we also booked Hotel Chaco along with the tour to get some discount for both reservations which was very price attractive. Chaco canyon is definitely a hidden gem to visit, and with a very informative and passionate guide introduced you to the culture made the trip very abundant! We were very glad that we found the tour, as I am honestly not sure how much we could learn if we were visiting by ourselves, also with a professional guide driving you to the canyon worths all the money (the road isn’t too easy to drive, and you got to take a nap on the way back ?) Highly recommended!!!”

A MUST TOUR, FUN!

“We arrived 15 minutes before our timed start of 8:30 am Saturday 8/28/21. Stepanie Anne, our guide greeted us by name and since we were the only guests for this tour she began our informative Ebike tutorial right away. She stowed a bag that I did not need and sized us up for the correct helmets. Gave us a few minutes to test drive the bikes in a nice little lot across the street and we were off. This was hands down the most fun tour I have ever done. If I see another Ebike tour I'm signing up. Bikes were easy to ride. Stephanie Anne was kind and filled us in on lots of history about Albuquerque. She made it fun and lively even stopping so we could mosey through the local farmers market. We felt safe on the streets of downtown and even got to speed it up a bit on a dedicated bike path. She answered, with extra care, some questions we had and really knew her stuff! A five star tour!”
