Spending a Fall day in Taos was enhanced by a hike by the beautiful Rio Grande River surrounded by trees whose leaves displayed a breathtaking intensity of gold, yellow, and... read more purple. My husband and I enjoyed the company of Angelisa for our half day walking / hiking tour to the Gorge Bridge. Angelisa arrived right on time in the lobby of our resort. She provided an overview for the day ahead and we felt well informed and prepared for our journey. Angelisa was great company, incredibly knowledgeable and allowed us a relaxing hike while she shared her knowledge, experience, and insight to the land, mountains, vegetation, trees, and wildlife of the area. She brought water and snacks for us to enjoy midway through our hike which refreshed us for the remainder of the day. Angelisa provided a detailed history of the Gorge Bridge and allowed us to view the bridge from a beautiful spot at a distance in addition to walking across this impressive structure. This tour exceeded our expectations and Angelisa, our tour guide, felt more like a friend by the end of our day together!

Exploring in the Rio Grande del Norte National Mon Exploring in the Rio Grande del Norte National Monument as the vast open land tangoes with the clouds above as we head our to our hiking trail. The monument includes approximately 242,555 acres of public land, most of which is managed by the  Bureau of Land Management. The landscape is comprised of rugged, wide open plains at an average elevation of 7,000 feet, dotted by volcanic cones, and cut by steep canyons with rivers tucked away in their depths. The Río Grande carves an 800 foot deep gorge through layers of volcanic basalt flows and ash. Among the volcanic cones in the Monument, Ute Mountain is the highest, reaching to 10,093 feet.
A perfect place of discovery with us when you're visiting Taos.

And I did, I visited Chaco Canyon three times in three weeks. Now some years later the canyon has called to me 56 times. The canyon is my healer and when I need advice I go there to listen and to learn. I am a Chaco Canyon guide, but really I am guided by the canyon."
Today's February Newsletter is posted and our Adventure Travel Blog a.k.a. "Stories" about the journey to Chaco Canyon by our Ambassador Bobby @cultural_guruduo is on our Bio page!! 📚
