8:00AM Meet time at El Monte Sagrado Lobby
- Journey from Taos along the Rio Grande corridor on a scenic shuttle into the Rio Grande Del Norte National Monument where we meet our New Mexico River Adventures Guide. Here we will have a Safety and Orientation talk to prepare you for your guided SUP activity, accommodating both the novice and the experienced. A carefully selected section of river will offer you an unforgettable experience; mild to wild, the choice is yours. SUP to your lunch destination and enjoy a delicious, gourmet picnic lunch riverside within the chiseled canyon walls shaping the valley, and refresh and rejuvenate before your hike within the monument.
- After lunch, we travel up the canyon to our trailhead at La Vista Verde Trail, catching views of the famous Taos Box. Our two and half mile, round-trip hike at 6,400 feet offers breathtaking scenery along the way, and ends at a spectacular, panoramic look-out point.
- To finish off our day and treat ourselves after a great hike, we’ll shuttle southward, following the waters of the Rio Grande to the Vivác Winery for a local tasting, which includes a glass of wine, a pint of beer, or a pint of local cider. Vivác, a Spanish term meaning “high-altitude refuge”, is a family love affair of handpicked New Mexican grown grapes, known by Wine Enthusiast Magazine as the Highest Rated Red Wine Producer in New Mexico’s History.
